Summary

 A pair of socks is a book about mismatched socks who go through a chain of events trying to find its matching socks. The first socks walked and walked and bumps into several other socks who have different patterns and shape on them. Finally, he finds he matching blue and red socks with rectangles on it and the live as a wonderful pair.

Rating

**** This book is great! very colorful and it attracts the students. The socks all have different shapes and colors. the book doesn’t drag it’s a quick straight to the point book for younger children.

Classroom ideas

1. You can use this book when teaching your students about patterns. The book shows socks which is a real-life item that can be brought into the class as a visual.  The socks have colors in patterns as well as shapes for patterns. An activity for that lesson can be having your students draw and color a pair of socks creating their own patterns.
2. You can begin to introduce certain shapes to the students the socks in the book help identify simple shapes such as circles ,squares and rectangles. Students can bring in some of their own socks they find with shapes or teacher can bring in a few pair of socks and play sock hunt. The students pick a sock from a bag and hide it from their classmates behind their backs until the
